Job Summary

The successful candidate will join the University Hospital Zurich (USZ) team, focusing primarily on DevOps and Software Engineering within the Pathology department. This role is central to ensuring a stable, high-performing, and well-integrated system landscape by designing and developing robust backend services and modern web applications, while also maintaining existing desktop/client applications. A key aspect involves implementing and advancing modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD, containerization (Kubernetes), monitoring, and infrastructure modernization using contemporary web and backend stacks (e.g., C#, Python, SQL). Approximately 20% of the role involves Technical Delivery and coordination, where you will manage the technical execution of software development and integration projects. This requires close collaboration with medical, technical, and administrative stakeholders to ensure efficient workflow and seamless integration into the existing IT landscape, making this a unique opportunity to apply cutting-edge technology in a meaningful clinical context.

Required Skills

Education

Completed University Degree (FH/University) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • Several years of experience in software development and IT operations, ideally in a clinical or regulated environment.
  • Experience implementing DevOps methodologies, CI/CD, monitoring, and automation.
  • Experience in the structured planning and coordination of technical projects.
