Job Summary

This role is a critical Technical Specialist position within the Interfaculty Biomedical Research Facility (IBF) at Heidelberg University, focusing on the management and coordination of animal breeding programs, particularly involving genetically modified rodents. The successful candidate will be responsible for steering and optimizing mouse stocks, conceptually developing and maintaining specialized animal husbandry database systems (Tierbase, MoVi), and ensuring robust data quality. Key daily tasks include generating analytical reports, leading technical training sessions for staff and researchers, and serving as the primary coordinator between animal husbandry, research groups, and administration. This position requires a biomedical background (BTA, MTA, or equivalent), profound knowledge of laboratory animal management and breeding techniques, strong organizational and leadership skills, and an affinity for data management systems.
