Job Summary

This role involves supporting cutting-edge research at the Institute for Neurogenetics, focusing on deciphering and treating Parkinson's syndrome and other movement disorders through the "LRRK2 Investigative Translational Exchange (LITE)" project. The Biological Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the intake and processing of biomaterial from patients across Lübeck and its European satellite sites. Key day-to-day tasks include performing various molecular analyses at the DNA, RNA, and protein levels, and conducting cell cultures using both cell lines and primary cells. The ideal candidate holds a degree or certification in a relevant biological or technical field, possesses excellent organizational skills, and is proficient in a range of genetic and molecular biological techniques, including PCR, sequencing, and Western Blot. This position offers the opportunity to work in a motivated, international, and interdisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians.

Required Skills

Education

Recognized professional qualification as a Biological Laboratory Technician or Medical/Biological Technical Assistant, or a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biotechnology, or equivalent.

Experience

  • Professional experience in genetic and molecular biological analytical procedures
  • Experience with biomaterial processing and handling
