Job Summary

This role involves leading a team of 13 highly qualified professionals focusing on quantum technologies and cryptographic applications within Germany's federal cybersecurity agency. The successful candidate will be a motivating leader responsible for advancing cryptographic procedures, including post-quantum cryptography (PQC), and ensuring their secure application in critical IT systems, especially for government classified information. The position requires coordinating the national PQC migration program, leading scientific and applied cryptographic projects, and representing the agency in national and international forums. This is an exciting opportunity for an expert in modern cryptography with strong leadership skills to actively shape Germany's digital security future.

Required Skills

Education

University Diploma/Master's degree in a mathematical or scientific field

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in modern cryptography, specifically in the design, analysis, and application of cryptographic procedures and protocols
  • Practical experience in leading discussions and negotiations, including in English
