Job Summary

This role seeks an experienced Automation Technician specializing in the commissioning of special-purpose machinery, particularly within the pharmaceutical sector. Day-to-day responsibilities include the full lifecycle management of machine commissioning, from initial setup to final customer acceptance, including technical leadership for software commissioning. You will work closely with software, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration. Key tasks involve troubleshooting AS-Interface and CAN-Bus systems, implementing camera systems, and managing plant networking. The ideal candidate possesses a technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or Automation Technology, or significant relevant experience in special-purpose machine construction, coupled with initial knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens/Rockwell) and Motion Control. High motivation, a goal-oriented approach, and a willingness to travel globally for successful system integration at customer sites are essential for this challenging and rewarding position.

Required Skills

Education

Advanced training as a Technician in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or Mechatronics, or equivalent vocational training

Experience

  • 5+ years in special-purpose machine construction (if lacking formal Technician qualification)
  • Professional experience in the commissioning of pharmaceutical special-purpose machinery
  • Initial knowledge of PLC programming and Motion Control with Siemens or Rockwell systems
  • Experience in fault analysis and troubleshooting
