Job Summary

This full-time role as an IT Administrator and Support Specialist, based near Karlsruhe in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, involves managing and developing the entire IT infrastructure for a renowned technology research client, supporting approximately 300 PCs and servers. Key responsibilities include the comprehensive maintenance and integration of servers, workstations, and IMT systems into the KIT network, ensuring high levels of IT security, system stability, and software currency, alongside managing access rights. Day-to-day activities involve centralized software distribution, backup management, and providing crucial hardware and operating system support across Windows, Apple, and Linux environments. You will also be responsible for procuring new hardware and software, testing new operating systems, and providing essential end-user support for standard software and Office applications, including conducting IT security training. The position requires a completed IT Specialist qualification or equivalent and proven professional experience in system administration, specifically with Active Directory, software distribution, and multi-OS environments.
