Job Summary

This Research Associate position at TU Ilmenau focuses on an interdisciplinary DFG project investigating the DC insulation behavior of low-voltage PVC cables under combined electrical, thermal, and humidity stress. Day-to-day responsibilities include the setup, testing, and commissioning of experimental test benches, followed by statistical test planning, data analysis, and evaluation of results from specialized measurements like PDC and FDS. A core component of the role involves advanced modeling and simulation of insulation material behavior using RC network theory and COMSOL Multiphysics. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in High Voltage Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Practical experience with high-voltage experiments and dielectric material characterization is highly desirable.
