Job Summary

This role involves acting as a Customer Support Engineer specializing in Telecommunications Switching Technology for Airbus Secure Land Communications, a provider of professional mobile radio solutions for critical infrastructure. The primary responsibilities include the operation and maintenance of digital switching systems, focusing on fault analysis and resolution in voice switching and signaling areas. The engineer will also be responsible for configuring switching centers, applying software upgrades and patches in various environments, and actively participating in projects introducing new services and platforms within Tetra and digital radio networks. Success requires a background in Computer Science or IT systems, coupled with multi-year professional experience in IT/Information Systems and deep knowledge of digital switching technology, ideally including practical experience with DXT systems. The position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile national security communication networks, requiring fluent German and good English skills for effective collaboration with customers and project teams.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Computer Science or comparable qualification, OR completed vocational training as an IT Systems Electrician

Experience

  • Multi-year professional experience in IT / Information Systems
  • Deep practical knowledge of digital switching technology
  • Practical experience with DXT systems (Nokia) is ideal
  • Long-term professional experience if qualified via vocational training as an IT Systems Electrician
