Job Summary

This role involves supporting cutting-edge research in molecular plant sciences, focusing on plant-pathogen interactions and immunity, within an international team at a leading German university. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing complex molecular biology and biochemical laboratory procedures, including cloning, PCR, protein biochemistry, and FPLC. A significant part of the role involves central laboratory organization, managing procurement, overseeing chemical storage, and maintaining sterile plant cultures, including genetic transformations. Furthermore, the assistant will manage IT maintenance for the lab area and provide technical instruction to students and interns. Candidates must possess a completed BTA qualification or equivalent, strong experience with sterile plant cultures and molecular techniques, excellent IT proficiency, and demonstrate a careful, structured, and team-oriented approach.
