Job Summary

This role involves contributing to cutting-edge research at the intersection of Large Language Models (LLMs), robotics, and multi-agent systems within the Fraunhofer IAIS. The Student Assistant will focus on the conception and development of innovative prototypes and demonstrators, exploring how LLMs, Vision-Language Models (VLMs), and agent-based systems can simplify the control and programming of robots. Key responsibilities include researching and evaluating current KI technologies for robotics, integrating intelligent procedures like NLP and ROS into agent-based architectures, and implementing intelligent agents, primarily using Python. This position is ideal for a student passionate about AI and robotics who wants to apply academic knowledge to real-world use cases, work closely with researchers, and contribute their own ideas in a flexible, international research environment.

Required Skills

Education

Current enrollment in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field of study

Experience

  • Practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) is advantageous
  • Practical experience with Vision-Language Models (VLMs) and Vision-Language-Action Models (VLAs) is advantageous
  • Initial practical experience with Robotics and ROS is beneficial (e.g., through projects or courses)
  • Experience working on AI-related projects is desirable
