Job Summary

This DevOps Engineer role is critical to the IT Technical Steering department at RWE Power AG, focusing on maintaining and optimizing digital services for operational sectors like mining and power generation. The successful candidate will act as a thought leader for infrastructural system architecture, bridging application development and central IT infrastructure services. Daily responsibilities include operating applications on MS Azure and Oracle Cloud infrastructure, focusing on provisioning, sizing, cost optimization, and implementing robust security concepts (e.g., Certificate Management, SIEM, and Vulnerability Management). You will also conduct root-cause and performance analyses for cloud infrastructure and databases, analyze scalability requirements, and coordinate service delivery with external cloud providers. Key qualifications include a university degree in IT, several years of professional experience, deep knowledge of Oracle databases and middleware, and proficiency in scripting languages.
