Job Summary

This specialist role focuses on coordinating and maintaining the company's Environmental Management System (EMS), including conducting internal audits and supporting external ISO 14001 certifications. A core responsibility is ensuring continuous compliance by monitoring and interpreting environmental regulations, specifically the Water Resources Act (WHG), AwSV, Hazardous Substances Ordinance, and the Circular Economy Act. The position requires actively advising and training various departments on legal requirements and new environmental standards, alongside initial responsibilities in occupational safety. The specialist acts as a key liaison, collaborating closely with regulatory authorities and external experts, and participating in site inspections and official audits (e.g., by the trade supervisory or water authorities). Candidates must bring a relevant technical or scientific educational background, specific knowledge of complex permitting procedures (like 4. BImSchV), and a confident, structured approach to managing regulatory compliance.

Required Skills

Education

Commercial-technical training (preferably Specialist for Circular and Waste Management or Chemical Technician), or further training as a Technician or Master Craftsman. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Process Engineering, or Chemistry.

Experience

  • Ideally, several years of professional experience in a comparable position or governmental environmental monitoring
