Job Summary

This role, based in Arnsberg, is for an Electrical Engineer joining the High-Voltage Control Center team at Westnetz GmbH, Germany's largest distribution network operator. The core responsibilities involve the independent monitoring and control of complex high- and medium-voltage networks (110 kV and 30 kV). Day-to-day tasks include coordinating network disconnections for maintenance and construction projects, and critically, managing all measures during system failures, requiring autonomous decision-making regarding the deployment of internal teams and external partners. The engineer ensures a safe power supply despite changing power flows driven by the energy transition (Energiewende), utilizing network switching and redispatch measures. This position is attractive as it offers a responsible, varied role shaping the energy transition, supported by a modern, collaborative work environment and a secure collective agreement offering a competitive salary (approx. €85,000 after training) plus attractive shift bonuses. Key requirements include a degree in Electrical Engineering, willingness to work in a 2- or 3-shift rotation, and the ability to process information quickly and apply it effectively, maintaining motivation in challenging situations.
