Job Summary

This role as a Firmware Developer is situated within a major electronics group in Berlin, focusing on developing and optimizing highly secure firmware for embedded systems. Core responsibilities include utilizing C/C++ (and possibly Assembler) to implement robust features, with a strong emphasis on "Security by Design," incorporating mechanisms like encryption and secure boot processes. The developer will manage the full lifecycle, ensuring firmware meets manufacturing, testing, and field-deployment standards, and will conceptualize and implement secure Over-The-Air (OTA) update mechanisms. Essential tasks also involve comprehensive debugging, troubleshooting production failures, conducting code reviews, and creating detailed technical documentation. Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics, multi-year experience in C/C++ firmware development, and professional proficiency in English. A deep understanding of hardware interfaces (e.g., SPI, I2C) and version control (Git/CI/CD) is required.
