Job Summary
The Material Research and Testing Institute at Bauhaus University Weimar (MFPA) is seeking a dynamic and innovative Post-Doc or late-stage doctoral candidate to lead a new research group focused on "Digital Twin for Infrastructure Structures." This pivotal role involves spearheading applied research projects, securing external funding, and mentoring scientific staff. The successful candidate will drive the development of advanced sensor systems, data storage and processing concepts for long-term data usability, and algorithms for automated model parameter adjustment based on real-time data. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape a key research area for the MFPA over the next six years, contribute to high-impact publications, and leverage excellent experimental facilities, all within a flexible and supportive environment in Weimar.
Required Skills
Education
Completed scientific university degree (Master or equivalent) and completed (or near completion) dissertation in a natural science or engineering discipline.
Experience
- Post-doctoral experience or in the final phase of doctoral studies
- Proven track record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals
- Experience in applying for research projects and leading research teams
- Experience in preparing technical reports and scientific publications in German and English
