Job Summary

This position seeks a highly motivated Doctoral Student to join a multidisciplinary research project focused on Translational Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. The core mission is to develop viral-based tools for the specific labeling and functional manipulation of transcriptionally defined neuronal subtypes. Key daily activities include conducting sophisticated bioinformatic analyses using enhancer databases and deep learning tools to identify subtype-specific enhancers, followed by rigorous experimental validation in established primary neuronal cell cultures. The successful candidate will also manage viral production (e.g., AAVs), perform quality control assays, and contribute significantly to data interpretation, figure preparation, and manuscript writing. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field like Neuroscience or Bioinformatics, possess proven coding skills (Python, R, or Matlab), and have hands-on experience with neuronal cell culture and viral vector systems. This role offers integration into an internationally focused research group and access to cutting-edge technologies.
