Job Summary
This pivotal role involves acting as the technical component owner for Thyristor Rectifier systems used in large-scale electrolysis and high-current applications, directly contributing to the decarbonization of the industrial sector. Day-to-day responsibilities are diverse, ranging from reviewing and approving technical documentation for cost-out improvements to coordinating control feature enhancements with engineering teams and supporting procurement decisions. You will also assist ongoing projects by providing expert knowledge on converter manufacturing and refining commissioning instructions for field teams. The ideal candidate holds a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a strong focus on power electronics, coupled with practical experience in MW-sized thyristor-based converter systems. This position requires a high sense of ownership, a strategic mindset, and strong communication skills to support maintenance, further development of the converter portfolio, and customer interaction during business development phases.
Required Skills
Education
Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, with strong focus on power electronics (ideally Thyristor-based systems).
Experience
- Experience in the design, manufacturing, commissioning, and/or testing of MW-sized thyristor-based converter systems
- Professional background in electrolysis or high-current applications (beneficial)
- Sufficient execution experience to support project execution for the whole primary electric scope
- Experience taking responsibilities as an Electrical Lead Engineer
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to travel and spend 30-75% of the time with interface partners in Erlangen, Germany, or at operating/manufacturing sites.
