Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity for an expert in electrical engineering to join a dynamic academic environment as a Visiting Professor of Electrical Drives, starting in Winter Semester 2026/2027. The role focuses on teaching and applied research within the Electromobility and Electrical Engineering degree programs. The successful candidate will possess strong theoretical knowledge and practical experience in electrical machines and drive systems, coupled with a doctorate or equivalent achievements in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Day-to-day responsibilities include representing the subject area in teaching, developing courses using modern didactic methods, conducting applied research, and contributing actively to academic self-governance. The position is ideal for a team player ready to profile their field further, particularly in areas like regulated drive systems, component design for mobility/energy/industrial applications, and grid feedback effects.

Required Skills

Education

Doctorate (PhD) in Electrical Engineering or a comparable engineering discipline, or equivalent professional achievements (promotionsäquivalente Leistungen)

Experience

  • Professional experience in at least one focus area of the Electromobility or Electrical Engineering degree programs
  • Teaching experience in the specialized subject area or relevant foundational subjects
  • Professional experience in electrical engineering or a comparable engineering discipline
  • Ability to represent the entire subject area in teaching and applied research
