Job Summary

This role seeks a highly motivated Research Associate in Business Informatics to join the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics at OTH Regensburg. The associate will be central to managing and advancing the Business Informatics lab infrastructure, including hardware and software systems, and implementing IT solutions used for teaching demonstrations. A core component of the position involves conducting research and development focused on decision-making problems within value chains, particularly concerning production planning, logistics, and Supply Chain Management, often leveraging Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP. Crucially, this is a 6-year fixed-term contract that explicitly supports the pursuit of a doctorate (PhD). Candidates must hold a relevant Master’s degree in Business Informatics or Economics, possess strong programming skills (e.g., Java), and demonstrate excellent proficiency in both German and English. Experience in process improvement, Operations Research, and simulation is highly advantageous.
