Research Associate / Doctoral Candidate (Electrical Engineering) | Elektroingenieur (m/w/d)
Technische Universität Dresden
Job Summary
This role is an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified Electrical Engineer or Communications Engineer to join the TU Dresden, one of Germany's eleven Universities of Excellence, focusing on cutting-edge 6G communication technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for the research, design, analysis, optimization, implementation, and measurement of a novel, energy-efficient, and broadband power amplifier. This amplifier must be multi-standard capable, operating efficiently across a wide frequency range (1.8 GHz to 6.5 GHz) to support standards like DECT NR+, WiFi (2.4 GHz, 5.7 GHz, and 6E band). Day-to-day tasks involve integrated circuit design, simulation, layout creation, and testing in a modern measurement laboratory. The position, initially funded until June 2028 under the BMBF-funded 6Glife2 project, explicitly offers the opportunity for scientific qualification, typically leading to a PhD. Key requirements include a very good university degree in a relevant engineering field and strong knowledge of circuit design, RF technology, semiconductor technology, and IC design methodologies.
