Postdoctoral Researcher in Neuroscience | Neurowissenschaftler (m/w/d)
Goethe-Universität Frankfurt
Job Summary
This three-year postdoctoral position at Goethe-University in Frankfurt, Germany, involves collaborative research with the Chinese Institute for Brain Research (CIBR) focused on fundamental neurobiological principles using the C. elegans model. The core objective is to investigate neuropeptidergic co-transmission, dense-core vesicle (DCV) heterogeneity, and multisensory integration. The successful candidate will systematically dissect how neuropeptides like FLP-1 and NLP-10 are sorted into distinct DCV populations, visualize their release, decipher molecular mechanisms of signaling suppression (FLP-1/DMSR-7), and map neural circuits modulated by these peptides to understand complex behavioral decisions. Key qualifications include a recent Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Cell Biology, or Genetics, coupled with a strong background in C. elegans neurobiology, molecular genetics (CRISPR/Cas9, cloning), and advanced quantitative microscopy. This role offers a challenging, innovative project with high potential for impactful publications and career development mentorship in a state-of-the-art research environment.
