Job Summary
This role involves acting as a Project Controlling Officer with a key coordination function within the IT Management department of the City of Duisburg. The professional will be central to steering and monitoring various IT projects, ensuring alignment with administrative IT strategies, and continuously developing the IT organization. Daily tasks include advising the department leadership on fundamental decisions, coordinating internal teams and external IT service providers, and actively participating in internal and external committees. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical understanding, experience in process analysis (especially IT processes), proficiency in project management methodologies (both classic and agile), and strong communication skills in both German and English. This position requires a high degree of self-reliance, organizational capability, and an agile mindset to adapt to technological changes.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent Diploma FH) in Business Administration; or qualification as Administrative Specialist (Verwaltungsfachwirt/Angestelltenlehrgang II); or eligibility for the higher non-technical administrative service (Bachelor level) in NRW.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience following the acquisition of the required qualification (for both civil servants and employees)
- Practical experience in supporting and leading projects
- Experience in the analysis and design of IT processes
- Proficiency in project management tools and their application
Languages
Additional
- Must possess administrative-specific training or relevant civil service qualification; The ability and willingness to acquire knowledge of project management instruments and agile methods quickly; Must submit application in German.
