Job Summary

This role involves providing critical technical support and analysis within the Criminal Investigation Department of the Frankfurt Police Headquarters. The Data Analyst will focus on developing automation solutions through self-created scripts and programming solutions, utilizing languages such as Java, Python, or R. A key responsibility is the technical setup and subsequent use of project-specific databases, requiring strong knowledge of SQL and relational database management systems. Day-to-day tasks include the analysis and visualization of mass data, creating sophisticated cartographic representations, and developing dashboards, preferably using tools like ArcGIS. Furthermore, the analyst will administer and advance department-specific IT systems and architectures, and provide expert technical consulting and training to staff on evolving IT trends impacting police procedures. The position requires a degree in Informatics or a related field, comprehensive technical understanding, and fluent German proficiency (C1 level) to handle the complexity and sensitivity of police investigative data. Education

Completed university of applied sciences degree in Informatics/Geoinformatics, Geosciences, Data Analysis, or a comparable field

Experience

  • Professional experience in relevant programming languages (Java, Python, or R)
  • Professional experience in Windows/UNIX/LINUX Shell scripting
  • Professional experience in applying Geoinformation Systems (GIS)
  • Professional experience in Geo-/Data analysis software
  • Professional experience in Visualization software (preferably ArcGIS)
