Job Summary

The Government of Upper Palatinate is seeking a dedicated Environmental Protection Specialist to join the Technical Environmental Protection department. This role focuses on the strict enforcement of the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG), including assessing emissions and immissions during complex approval procedures, ensuring air quality control, noise protection, and plant safety. Day-to-day tasks involve monitoring facilities, coordinating the implementation of the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) and Major Accidents Ordinance, handling public complaints, and providing expert technical support to local administrative authorities. The specialist will also manage data consolidation for EU reporting requirements, including the ISA-B database, and contribute to the development of regional air quality plans. Successful candidates must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in natural, environmental, or engineering sciences, possess strong organizational skills, assertiveness, and excellent communication abilities.
