Job Summary

The Government of Upper Palatinate is seeking a dedicated Technical Environmental Protection Specialist for the Schwandorf District Office. This role involves actively participating in approval procedures related to environmental protection and waste management laws, overseeing environmentally relevant facilities, and providing expert opinions on various planning and construction projects. The specialist will also be responsible for addressing public inquiries and complaints, conducting noise level measurements, and contributing to data collection for EU reporting obligations. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to environmental compliance, offering a diverse range of tasks within a supportive public service environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (B.Sc. / B.Eng. / Dipl.-Ing. FH) in Technical Environmental Protection, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physical Technology, Chemistry, or Technical Chemistry.

Experience

  • Professional experience in technical environmental protection or related fields
  • Experience with official approval procedures and regulatory oversight
  • Experience in providing expert opinions and consultations

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Valid Class B driving license and willingness to undertake business trips and unrestricted suitability for field assignments. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for two years, starting September 1, 2024. Part-time is possible if job-sharing ensures full-day coverage.
