Job Summary

This crucial leadership role involves the strategic and operational management of all Production, Quality Control (QC), and Engineering activities for individualized therapies across the Mainz sites. The Senior Director will be responsible for the disciplinary and professional leadership of very large teams (350+ FTEs), focusing heavily on developing future leaders. Key responsibilities include ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, and sustainability standards (e.g., CO2 balance), managing GMP certification, overseeing launch readiness, and facilitating technology transfer. The role requires close collaboration with clinical teams, supply chain management (SCM), IT, and external partners. Candidates must possess significant experience (10-15 years) in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, deep knowledge of GMP/FDA/EMA regulations, and proven expertise in managing clinical trial manufacturing and large-scale team leadership, making this an ideal position for a seasoned executive looking to drive innovation in personalized medicine.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Natural Sciences, Engineering, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field; ideally a PhD or MBA with a focus on management in the pharmaceutical or biotechnological industry.

Experience

  • 10-15 years in the pharmaceutical or biotechnological industry, preferably in a leadership position
  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing for clinical trials, including budget monitoring and goal achievement
