Job Summary

This part-time role as a Student Research Assistant involves providing essential support at the Institute for Experimental Animal Science, a research and service facility of the RWTH Aachen Medical Faculty. Daily tasks focus on the meticulous care and breeding of laboratory animals, primarily mice, including feeding, watering, and cleaning/disinfecting housing rooms according to stringent hygiene standards. A core responsibility is accurate documentation and order processing within the breeding database (Tick@Lab), ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System (DIN EN ISO 9001:2008) and the ethical 3R Principle (Refine, Reduce, Replace). Candidates must be currently enrolled in Biology, Biotechnology, Medicine, or related fields, possess basic biological/medical knowledge, and demonstrate reliability, accuracy, and strong communication skills. Excellent proficiency in both German and English is required for this position.
