Job Summary

This PhD student position offers a highly motivated researcher the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research focused on pharmacoresistant epilepsy within the Department of Neurology. The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to achieve a doctoral degree while working on a project utilizing state-of-the-art techniques. Day-to-day tasks involve applying advanced molecular biology methods, next-generation sequencing, viral approaches, single-cell and network electrophysiology, and high-resolution imaging. Applicants must hold a Master's degree in biology, medicine, or a related field such as molecular biology or physics. Prior experience in omics, electrophysiology (patch clamp, MEA recordings), and viral approaches is desirable, making this an ideal role for an ambitious researcher looking to advance their expertise in neuroscience and epileptology.

  • The position is limited for 3 years in accordance with the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG), with the option of prolongation. Work hours are part-time (65%, currently 25.3 hours/week).
