The Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in JavaScript to join its Office for Digitalization, Organization, and IT (DO.IT). This role is crucial for advancing the city's digitalization efforts by developing and optimizing JavaScript functionalities for various development platforms. The successful candidate will extend and improve existing platforms, provide expert advice and support to 'Citizen Developers' through coaching and workshops, and analyze user needs to enhance services. Key responsibilities also include identifying, resolving, and documenting platform issues, and implementing new features to boost efficiency and user-friendliness. This is a permanent position within a dynamic team focused on individual software developments for the city.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science or a comparable university degree, or a vocational training in IT with several years of professional experience in the field. For foreign degrees, recognition in Germany or proof of equivalence is required.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the field of IT
  • Several years of experience with JavaScript and complex, networked systems
  • Experience in the creation, further development, and extension of workflow-based applications
  • Experience in communal structures (beneficial)
