Job Summary

This role involves actively shaping innovative e-Government applications for the Free State of Bavaria by ensuring the reliable operation of central digital file systems on highly available platforms. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring systems, analyzing and resolving complex IT errors, and planning and executing application migrations during release changes. A key focus is the continuous development and automation of existing operational processes. Candidates must possess a university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Computer Science, strong foundational IT knowledge, and proven experience in Windows and Linux server administration. Excellent German and good English proficiency are mandatory. This position is attractive due to its high job security (unlimited contract), excellent work-life balance offering up to 80% remote work, and the potential for suitable candidates to transition into civil servant status (Beamtenverhältnis).

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Dipl.-FH) in Computer Science or a comparable field of study

Experience

  • Multiple years of professional experience in application operations (required for higher salary groups)
  • Professional experience in system administration of Windows and Linux Servers
  • Experience operating applications based on Container Technology (Kubernetes) (Advantageous)
  • Entry-level candidates (Bachelor graduates) are welcome
