Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated Biologist or Nature Conservation Specialist within the Environmental Protection Office of the state capital, Stuttgart, starting in February 2026 and temporary until September 2027 (part-time, maximum 90%). The specialist will primarily handle expert assessments and species protection evaluations for various projects and building procedures within the city district. Key responsibilities include developing conservation concepts for protected areas and biotopes, ensuring the implementation of NATURA 2000 requirements, and coordinating with other municipal departments. You will also manage external service contracts for inventory surveys and lead public relations and expert consulting on nature and species protection topics. This position requires a scientific university degree in Biology or a related ecological field, fluency in German, a Class B driving license, and the willingness to conduct frequent fieldwork, including occasional evening or weekend appointments.
