Job Summary

This role, based in Hamburg's HafenCity, is crucial for optimizing global trade operations within a leading international retailer specializing in travel retail (Duty Free, cruise ships). The Customs Business Process Expert will primarily focus on translating complex EU and German customs and excise tax legislation into actionable functional requirements for SAP systems, including SAP GTS, ERP, and EWM. Day-to-day tasks involve defining precise specifications for new system developments, analyzing data structures, and acting as the key interface between IT and business operations to ensure legal compliance. The expert will also be responsible for developing detailed compliance reports for external authorities and internal stakeholders, leading process optimization projects, and providing technical guidance to internal Key Users. Success requires multi-year experience in customs environments, strong analytical skills, and fluency in both German and English to navigate dynamic, international business environments.
