Job Summary
This role involves working as a Scientific Officer within the Pesticide Safety Department at the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) in Berlin. The primary responsibilities include the scientific evaluation of studies concerning the residue behavior of biocide active substances and estimating the intake of biocide residues through food. The officer will assess resulting consumer risks, draft scientific evaluation reports in both German and English, and propose maximum residue limits for biocidal active substances. Key qualifications include a university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related natural science field, combined with professional experience in health risk assessment. The position requires very good proficiency in both written and spoken German and English, along with strong communication and negotiation skills, contributing significantly to national and European authorization processes.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree, Diploma, or comparable university degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Toxicology, or a comparable natural science field. Doctorate (Desired).

- Professional experience in the field of health risk assessment
- Experience in international projects and committees

- Proof of equivalence for foreign educational qualifications (in German or English) is required.
