Job Summary

The Technical University of Dresden (TUD), an Excellence University, is seeking a highly motivated Doctoral Candidate/Research Associate to join the new Professorship for Algorithmic and Structural Graph Theory within the Institute for Theoretical Computer Science. Starting in early 2026, this three-year position, with the option for extension, is designed to facilitate the candidate's scientific qualification, typically culminating in a PhD. The core focus involves high-level scientific research on the design and analysis of Graph Algorithms, with potential specialization in areas like parameterized algorithms, structural graph theory, symmetries in graphs, and algorithmic model theory. The successful candidate will be expected to publish and present findings at leading international conferences and journals. Additionally, the role includes participation in teaching activities, specifically supporting and supervising M.Sc., B.Sc., or Diploma students. Candidates must hold an M.Sc. or equivalent in Computer Science or Mathematics, possess proven research experience, and demonstrate excellent proficiency in English.
