Job Summary

This Doctoral Researcher position at the Technical University of Dresden focuses on enhancing the safety and reliability of high-power charging infrastructure components. The successful candidate will conduct critical research into the electrical-thermal and tribo-electrical behavior of high-stress plug connections used in fast-charging systems. Day-to-day tasks include conceptualizing, setting up, and running complex experimental trials, investigating the long-term contact behavior of connections, and developing sophisticated electrical-thermal models using Finite Element Method (FEM) software. A key responsibility will be verifying these computational models to accurately predict current carrying capacity and heating profiles. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, possesses fundamental knowledge of FEM programs, and demonstrates a highly structured, independent, and collaborative approach to scientific experimentation. This role offers a unique opportunity for scientific qualification (PhD) within a dynamic team at one of Germany's leading Universities of Excellence.
