Job Summary

This full-time, fixed-term IT System Administrator role, situated within the Department for Digitalization and Information Technology of the Burgenlandkreis District Office, focuses on maintaining and enhancing the IT infrastructure for the district administration and associated schools. The administrator will primarily handle system administration for virtualized Windows environments, provide 2nd-level support to users and departments, and coordinate the installation and configuration of central and specialized applications. Key responsibilities include managing change and release processes using central management systems, participating in IT projects, and preparing technical specifications for tenders and procurements. Candidates must have a completed education in IT System Integration or equivalent, possess strong knowledge of Windows Server (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS), Windows Client, and Linux administration, along with experience in LAN/WAN networking and Office applications. This role requires high commitment, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently within a modern, public-sector environment.

Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist in System Integration or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Experience in installation, setup, and operation of current Windows Server versions
  • Experience in installation, setup, and operation of current Windows Client versions
  • Experience in administration of Linux distributions
  • Experience in administration of LAN and WAN networks
  • Knowledge of administration and working with a Document Management System (DMS) is advantageous
