This critical hybrid role seeks a Project Application Engineer or Automation Engineer to manage the coordination, engineering, and commissioning of advanced DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and protection systems. Day-to-day responsibilities involve leveraging modern tools like zenon to design and document innovative automation solutions, creating detailed technical specifications, and implementing high-performance hardware and software applications. A major component of the role includes conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and performing on-site commissioning directly at customer locations, ensuring compliance with standards and customer expectations. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and possesses multi-year experience in electrical projects, particularly within medium and low voltage environments. Success requires fluency in both German and English, strong technical knowledge of engineering methods, IEC 61850, and communication testing, alongside a willingness to travel internationally (20-30%) to support project rollouts. Required Skills

Education

Successful university degree (or equivalent/higher) in Electrical Engineering

Experience

  • Multi-year experience in electrical engineering projects and commissioning
  • Experience in medium and low voltage systems (preferred)
  • Professional knowledge of engineering methods, processes, IEC 61850, and communication testing
  • Experience with projects in utilities, petrochemical, mining, metal industry, or rail applications (desired)
