Job Summary

This exciting Research Intern position focuses on the Japanese Beetle Project within Agroscope, the Swiss federal competence center for agro-food research. The intern will be actively involved in critical research activities aimed at developing sustainable control strategies for this invasive exotic organism. Day-to-day tasks include participating in field data collection across Ticino and Valais, assisting with control trials in viticulture, and contributing to landscape mapping and characterization. A key responsibility involves managing and utilizing the collected data, alongside participating in knowledge dissemination activities. Candidates should hold a recent university degree (within the last 12 months) in agronomy, biology, or environmental sciences, possess strong entomology and viticulture knowledge, and demonstrate commitment and teamwork skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to Swiss agricultural success and gain practical research experience in neobiota management.

Experience

  • Proven capacity for autonomous work, commitment, flexibility, and teamwork.
