Job Summary

This role seeks an experienced Environmental Protection Engineer to join the Emission Control team in the Hannover Region, focusing on minimizing harmful environmental impacts. The core responsibility involves managing technical aspects of approval and notification procedures under the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG), particularly concerning wind farms, livestock operations, and large shooting ranges. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing and evaluating complex expert opinions related to noise, odor, and pollutant emissions, and performing proprietary dispersion calculations for sound and air quality. Candidates must possess a degree in Environmental Engineering and demonstrate long-term professional experience, ideally in plant-related immission control, alongside deep knowledge of BImSchG and associated technical regulations. The position requires a valid Class B driver's license and the physical capacity for frequent fieldwork, often in challenging, inaccessible terrain, sometimes requiring work during nights or weekends. This is a permanent public sector position offering stability and flexible work models.
