Job Summary
This role is for a strategic leader passionate about achieving climate neutrality and driving the energy transition in the Hannover region. As the Head of the Municipal Climate Protection Team, you will lead a team of 8 professionals, overseeing personnel, organizational, and financial responsibilities. Your day-to-day will involve steering the team's strategic and conceptual direction, integrating the Climate Plan 2035 with the regional climate protection concept, and developing a sustainable climate protection strategy. You will also represent the region in external negotiations and committees, initiate strategic alliances with key stakeholders, and develop innovative concepts to strengthen climate protection. This position offers a unique opportunity to significantly contribute to environmental sustainability and shape the future of the Hannover region.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or university diploma, preferably in Environmental Sciences, Geography, or a related field with a planning focus
Experience
- Professional experience in a leadership role (Project Management desirable)
- Several years of professional experience, ideally in climate protection or the energy industry
