Job Summary
This role focuses on developing future-proof electrical systems for off-highway machinery, commercial vehicles, and special vehicles. A core responsibility is the design of low and high-voltage control cabinets (PDUs) and corresponding wiring harnesses. Day-to-day tasks include contributing to system conceptualization, drafting requirements specifications, conducting risk assessments and FMEAs, and selecting and integrating components in compliance with relevant standards and in coordination with suppliers. The engineer will also be responsible for creating comprehensive documentation, managing device layouts, and inputting production-relevant data into the ERP system. Furthermore, you will oversee prototype builds, ensuring a smooth transition to series production through close collaboration with production and work preparation teams. The ideal candidate holds a degree or completed training in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, ideally complemented by a Technician qualification, and demonstrates strong analytical and solution-oriented thinking skills.
Required Skills
Education
Completed training/apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics; ideally further qualification as a Technician or equivalent degree/qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in developing electrical systems for Off-Highway, Commercial, or Special Vehicles
- Experience in designing low and high-voltage control cabinets and wiring harnesses
- Experience with system conceptualization, risk assessment, and FMEA processes
- Experience in component selection, integration, and supplier coordination
- Experience in supervising prototype builds and transitioning products to series production
- Experience in product maintenance and continuous development
