Job Summary

This role involves crucial maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of low-voltage electrical systems within railway infrastructure, including 50Hz track systems, platform lighting, and switch heating. Key responsibilities extend to servicing modern installations such as e-charging stations, photovoltaic units, grounding, and lightning protection systems. The technician will also provide technical guidance to colleagues, manage material procurement, and ensure detailed documentation (test protocols, performance records). Candidates must possess a completed apprenticeship or technical degree in electrical engineering or a related field, a Class B driver's license, and be prepared for on-call, night, and weekend shifts essential for safe train operation. Education

Completed Apprenticeship (Lehre) in Electrical Machine Technology, Electrical Engineering, Railway Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation Technology, Refrigeration Plant Technology, Mechatronics-Automation Technology, or Process Technology; OR Completed Technical School (Fachschule) in Electrical Engineering or Electronics.

Experience

  • Professional experience in inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems
  • Willingness to pursue internal qualification up to Master Technician level
