Job Summary

This role involves joining an interdisciplinary team to shape the entire engineering cycle of AI products, bridging the gap between IT infrastructure and Data Science. The core mission is ensuring modern AI applications are built upon stable, scalable, and high-performance data foundations. Day-to-day tasks include developing innovative solutions for processing and analyzing structured and unstructured data (text, image), and designing robust data pipelines using key AWS services such as EMR, Glue, and Athena. A significant focus will be on implementing ingestion pipelines for vector databases to support generative AI applications like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). The successful candidate must possess a degree in Computer Science or a related field, bring at least two years of professional experience in Data Engineering focused on AI/Cloud topics, and demonstrate expertise in Python, PySpark, and cloud platforms, preferably AWS. Required Skills

Education

Completed degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Minimum two years of professional experience in Data Engineering focusing on AI and Cloud topics
  • Proven experience in building, operating, and scaling productive data pipelines
  • Practical experience in processing and analyzing unstructured data (e.g., text and image data)

German (Fluent)
