Job Summary

This critical role involves designing, building, and operating secure, stable, and scalable cloud infrastructures specifically for modern Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI (GenAI) applications. The engineer will utilize Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools to reliably manage these environments and develop robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure repeatable and stable deployments. A key focus is establishing and advancing MLOps practices, including model versioning and lifecycle management. Day-to-day tasks include operating and scaling complex GenAI components such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, vector databases, and Large Language Model (LLM) inference services in production. The ideal candidate possesses a technical degree, deep expertise in relevant AWS services (like SageMaker and Bedrock), and solid experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes. This position is vital for ensuring the stability and efficiency of systems supporting millions of people's health, offering a chance to work with cutting-edge AI technology across various German locations.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in a comparable technical role
  • Solid experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, Helm)
  • Practical knowledge in setting up and operating CI/CD pipelines
  • Practical experience implementing modern MLOps practices
  • Experience operating RAG pipelines, vector databases, and LLM inference services in production environments
