Job Summary

This Lead Data Scientist role is central to shaping the development and operation of innovative AI and Machine Learning products within the BARMER.AI division. The primary focus is ensuring that all solutions are technically excellent, strategically sound, and fully compliant with regulatory requirements, particularly the EU AI Act. Day-to-day responsibilities include acting as the key contact for technical AI governance standards, translating these requirements into tangible technical solutions, and developing standards for traceable and efficient technical documentation. You will advise on the deployment of AI/ML models in projects, ensure product reproducibility, explainability, and monitoring, and support development teams in creating scalable AI services. The position requires at least five years of experience in ML implementation and strong communication skills to guide interdisciplinary teams, offering a unique opportunity to drive responsible, data-driven product development nationwide in Germany.
