Job Summary

This role involves actively shaping digital transformation as an IT Consultant and System Administrator within the Linux environment for hannIT, a strategic IT partner for the Hannover region's public sector. Day-to-day responsibilities include the continuous analysis and optimization of the existing IT landscape, developing concepts for future scalability, and configuring and integrating new infrastructure components. The successful candidate will manage and maintain deployed systems, initiate critical processes like backups, and provide 2nd level support to ensure smooth operation. A key aspect of the job is consulting decision-makers on IT landscape evolution, planning suitable IT solutions (including on-premise and cloud services), and leading or participating in projects, complete with resource and cost planning. The position requires a degree in IT or a relevant IT apprenticeship, coupled with fundamental knowledge of Linux operating systems and extensive experience in IT infrastructure and system administration. This position offers the stability of public service combined with dynamic IT work on an unlimited contract.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in IT (e.g., Computer Science or Business Informatics) or comparable qualification; alternatively, completed IT apprenticeship (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration).

Experience

  • Extensive professional knowledge in IT Infrastructure and System Administration.
  • Experience in the analysis and optimization of existing IT landscapes.
  • Experience in creating setup, migration, and upgrade plans.
  • Experience in the technical support and operation of IT systems.
