Job Summary

This role involves leading and building a new IT team of up to 10 employees focused on container operations within a complex IT system landscape. The Team Leader will actively shape the team's tasks, manage change processes, and represent the department in internal and external working groups. A core responsibility is overseeing the container platform lifecycle, from development to production, ensuring stable, highly available platforms (OpenShift, Rancher) for core business applications. The ideal candidate possesses a strong IT background, extensive experience in container virtualization, and practical knowledge of orchestrating complex container environments (Kubernetes, Docker, or Podman). This position requires leadership experience, strong analytical skills, decision-making competence, and fluent German language proficiency to successfully manage the team and strategic alignment of the department.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Diploma FH) in IT or comparable qualification (e.g., IT-specific qualification) OR completed vocational training in IT combined with several years of comparable practical experience in the IT sector.

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience in IT, specifically in container virtualization environments
  • Professional experience in planning and providing infrastructure components, ideally in container technology
  • Practical experience managing complex container environments (Kubernetes, Docker, or Podman)
  • Initial experience in technical and/or disciplinary leadership of teams or project groups, including on-call duty
