Job Summary

This role offers an engineering student the opportunity to actively contribute to the stability and security of the power grid during Germany’s energy transition. The successful candidate will join the Asset Planning unit at Amprion, focusing on System Stability and Grid Integration. Day-to-day tasks involve assessing current system stability challenges—driven by increasing integration of wind, PV, batteries, and new large consumers—and developing effective countermeasures. Key responsibilities include conducting, analyzing, and evaluating stability investigations, performing programming tasks to automate these studies, and building and ensuring the quality of complex grid models. This position is ideal for students currently enrolled in Electrical or Energy Engineering who possess basic knowledge of system stability and initial programming experience, offering a unique chance to shape a secure, efficient, and climate-neutral energy future.

Required Skills

Education

Ongoing engineering science studies (Energy Technology, Electrical Engineering, or comparable field)

Experience

  • Current enrollment in an engineering science degree (Energy Technology, Electrical Engineering, or comparable field)
  • Knowledge in the area of system stability and electro-technical/energy-technical questions
  • Initial programming experience (e.g., Matlab, Python, C/C++)
  • Initial experience using DIgSILENT Power Factory
