Job Summary

This role involves managing and enhancing the IT security infrastructure for the Ennepe-Ruhr district administration. The IT Security Manager will be responsible for administering and maintaining firewall systems (specifically Fortinet), along with proxy and DNS infrastructure. Key daily tasks include designing security standards, analyzing and resolving system disturbances, and handling IT security incidents (Incident Handling), which includes forensic investigations and coordinating responses across affected departments. The successful candidate will act as part of the 'First Line of Defense' against cyber risks, continuously monitoring the effectiveness of implemented security measures. This position requires a degree in a relevant technical field or a related degree combined with at least two years of professional network experience, strong knowledge of firewall administration, and a structured, team-oriented approach to cybersecurity management.
