Job Summary

This specialist role focuses on implementing and administering the critical Unified Communications (UC) infrastructure for the University Hospital Freiburg, a designated critical infrastructure (KRITIS) facility. The position requires active participation in designing and maintaining robust, secure voice and video communication systems across a large enterprise. Key responsibilities include managing IP telephony services (Cisco UC), video conferencing (Webex), alarm systems, and messenger services (Jabber). The specialist will set standards for UC hardware and software, execute projects from design through operation, provide third-level support, and help guide technological realignment. Candidates must have a background in Computer Science or IT/Telecommunications and proven expertise in classic telephony, VoIP, and LAN technology, with a preference for experience in Cisco environments. This is a vital role ensuring high availability and security for essential medical communication.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science, or completed training in Information and Telecommunications Technology, or IT Specialist for System Integration qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in classic telephony, VoIP, LAN technology, and UCC features
  • Professional experience in the Cisco UC environment (preferred)
  • Professional experience in network and VoIP areas (TCP/IP, SIP, RTP)
  • Professional experience in IT operation of server systems, preferably in virtualized environments
